Be Your Own Photographer: Motherhood

Scroll through any mother's camera roll and you will find an abundance of moments captured of other people holding their precious baby, some poorly lit selfies while feeding their baby, and focused images of the little feet and hands of their little one that they never want to forget. What seems to be missing from this camera roll is the every day candid moments of the mother. The snuggles, the kisses, and the laughter shared between two humans who spend 24 hours together a day without the snaps to look back on.

I tried the approach of enrolling my husband with the task of taking pictures of my daughter and I every day. This failed miserably as my husband seems to think I look best shot backlit from above. (to be clear, I dont.)

Cue me taking matters into my own hands. I ordered a tripod from Amazon and downloaded the app "Lens Buddy" and began taking a moment once a week to take self timed photos of the simple moments: bath time, diaper change, nap time, feeding, and play time. This allowed me to angle the shot and adjust as needed without getting annoyed with my incredible partner.
